BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mabutho Mthembu is the Founding member and Chairman of Youth Managers Foundation. He completed his matric at a Roman Catholic missionary school called Inkamana High School (Vryheid, Kwa-Zulu / Natal) where he believes his interest in development was triggered.
Mabutho further enrolled at the University of Johannesburg where he completed Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting in 2005. Mabutho holds Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Taxation) Honors from the same academic institution.
In 2006, Mabutho commenced his professional career at the South African Micro Finance Apex Fund and in 2007, joined the PricewaterhouseCoopers tax unit as a tax consultant. Mabutho went on to further his professional career at KPMG where he spent close to 4 years in taxation unit. Currently, Mabutho is with General Electric in the tax unit and his role covers Sub-Sahara Africa.
Mabutho has considerable appetite for networking and watching news and this keeps him occupied during his private time.
I am Deputy Chairperson of Youth Managers Foundation. I matriculated in 2008 in Durban Christian high School; I then enrolled with Central University of Technology Free State to further my career in Civil Engineering. I am currently working for Eskom (TTC) as a site consult, previously I was working for Group Five as a site engineer.
I am an energetic, ambitious person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to any task that I undertake or situation that I am presented with. As a graduate with three years of experience in engineering field I am excellent in working with others to achieve a certain objective on time and with excellence.
Charisse Clarence is the treasurer and one of the founding members of Youth Managers foundation. She completed her high school career at Mondeor High School (Johannesburg South) in 2003.
She then enrolled at the University of Johannesburg to pursue her dream of becoming a chartered accountant. She completed her BComm Accounting degree in 2006 and her honours degree in 2007.
In 2008 she commenced her professional career by joining PwC to complete her 3 year trainee article programme in order to qualify as a CA. She then joined the PwC indirect tax team in 2011.
Charisse is currently a senior consultant in the indirect tax team of PwC. She is also completing an NQF level 8 course through UNISA in order to further improve her technical ability in her field of expertise.
Charisse has always had a keen interest in community development. Since 2009 she has been involved in various projects which predominantly aim to promote education amongst the youth in rural and under privileged communities.
Mr Job Maina Kabochi - Company Secretary
Bachelor of Law (LLB) – University of Nairobi, Kenya
Job Kabochi is Youth Managers Foundation’ Company Secretary.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Job also holds qualifications as a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and Certified Public Secretary (“CPS”) from Kenya, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Income Tax from the University of Cape Town and an Advanced VAT Certificate from the University of South Africa (“UNISA”).
Job’s professional experience includes 10 years as a tax advisor with accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Job is currently employed and heads the Value-Added Tax team in Middle East & Africa for the US conglomerate, General Electric.
Job lives by the mantra, ‘everybody deserves a chance’. He is a big advocate of coaching and mentoring the youth and when he is not tax-consulting he enjoys time on the on the golf course – we are still trying to find out what exactly he does at the golf course!!!
Vuyisile Sonti – Communications
Vuyisile Sonti is a member of the board of Youth Managers Foundation. He matriculated at Mabuya High School and enrolled at East Rand College where he completed a Teachers Education Diploma. Vusiyile further holds an Education Management Diploma and Project Management Certificate from Rand Afrikaans University, now known as University of Johannesburg.
Vuyisile is currently a principal at a primary school in East Rand region. Separately, Vuyisile accepted his calling to a vocation in ordained ministry and completed a Diploma in Theology from TEEC. Upon completion, Vuyisile was ordained as a priest of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Highveld. Vuyisile is currently pursuing Honours in practical theology in the University of Pretoria and further practices his ministry at the Church of the Holy Name in Tembisa, under the Anglican Church Diocese of Highveld.
Vuyisile has passion for youth having served in various leadership positions at his youth and it is in this regard, that he has undertaken this task of serving in the board of Youth Managers Foundation.
Mr Mthembu is an associate of Youth Managers Foundation as the resident leadership coach. He is currently the Managing Director of Landelahni Leadership Development.
Mr Mthembu is a graduate from UNISA with an Honours Degree in Human Resources Development from UJ/ RAU and holds senior diplomas in Management Development, Strategic Management, Project Management and Financial Management. He also holds an MSc on Leadership and Partnerships with the University of KwaZulu Natal where he researched the role of leadership towards managing partnerships and build effectiveness. He has completed a postgraduate coaching certificate through Middlesex University.
